26/9/14 UKIP SUPPORTS 50/50 SHARED PARENTING AFTER MEETING FATHERS4JUSTICE
Nadine O’Connor, Campaign Director for Fathers4Justice, has welcomed today’s announcement by Ukip that the party were supporting a presumption of 50/50 shared parenting and visiting rights for grandparents.
Both Nadine and F4J Founder Matt O’Connor, had met with Ukip leader Nigel Farage and Ukip Policy Director Tim Aker to discuss shared parenting and the issue of fatherlessness.
F4J had also previously worked with Ukip National Deputy Chairwoman Suzanne Evans who made the announcement today. In her speech to conference, Evans remarked, “Under a Ukip government, there will be no more middle-aged men scaling public buildings in tight, unflattering Batman costumes.”
Said Nadine O’Connor, “This is another small step towards ending the cancer of family breakdown and mass fatherlessness in our country. We are pleased that Ukip listened to our arguments regarding the benefits of shared parenting to children, families and society as a whole.”
