Fathers4Justice survey reveals 38% of separated dads won’t see their kids on Father’s Day
A Fathers4Justice survey of separated dads for Father’s Day 2017 has revealed that 38% of separated dads do not expect to see their children this Father’s Day.
The online survey of 500 separated dads between 21st May – 8th June 2017 also revealed that 70% of separated dads don’t think Father’s Day is realistically portrayed in advertising and the media.
The headline findings include:
* 95% of separated dads think more should be done to promote Father’s Day as a celebration of fatherhood
* Christmas was the public holiday separated dads were most likely to see their children
* 38% of separated dads did not expect to see their children this Father’s Day
* 78% of Fathers4Justice supporters did not expect to see their children this Father’s Day
* 70% of separated dads don’t think Father’s Day is realistically portrayed in advertising and the media
Said Fathers4Justice founder Matt O’Connor, “These findings highlight the facts behind the fictional version of Father’s Day peddled by retailers and in advertising and the media.”
“The uncomfortable truth is that millions of dads will be heartbroken they can’t see their kids this Father’s Day.”
“This not only causes them and their families immense pain and suffering, but sadly, statistically, 12 men will take their own lives on Father’s Day.”
