Statement on behalf of Matt, Nadine and Archie O’Connor
We were notified today that a hearing had taken place without our knowledge in which Caroline Nokes MP had our claim against her for aiding and abetting harassment, trespass and assault against our family struck out.
Given there are ongoing legal proceedings and a further hearing on 13th March relating to these matters, we are surprised and concerned by the actions of the County Court in making this decision without all parties being present, especially given the court has yet to hear the full body of evidence relating to a 9-month campaign of harassment that targeted our children and family.
This decision has taken place just weeks before the General Election where the MP is seeking re-election and before disclosure has been made of key communications between the MP and her colleagues, relating to a series of incidents at our Stockbridge home last year, which resulted in us being forced to leave our home.
We should stress that we will immediately appeal any judgement striking our claim out and that we will pursue those responsible for targeting our family with a view to bringing them to justice.
