Fathers4Justice write to Home Secretary expressing ‘deep concern’ over Butler-Sloss appointment in child abuse inquiry

Campaign group Fathers4Justice today wrote to the home secretary, Theresa May, expressing deep concern over the appointment of Lady Butler-Sloss as the chair of the new public inquiry into the handling of child abuse allegations by public institutions.

Lady Butler-Sloss is the former president of the family division of the high court who was forced to apologise to Fathers4Justice in the House of Lords last year after making false allegations about the group https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jD9Sw3rxnwI&app=desktop

Fathers4Justice claim that Butler-Sloss was responsible for a conspiracy of silence in the secret family courts she oversaw during her tenure as President of the Family Division and is unsuitable as a result.

The Family Court system is the largest institutional child abuse scandal of our our time. In the letter to Theresa May, Fathers4Justice Campaign Director Nadine O’Connor, “The appointment of Lady Butler-Sloss to lead this inquiry is deeply concerning and threatens to undermine the credibility of the inquiry from the start.”

“Butler-Sloss oversaw the secret family courts which saw thousands of children separated from their fathers behind closed doors. It is unthinkable that the public can have any confidence in a person with this background.”

“I urge the Home Secretary to reconsider her decision with the utmost urgency.” For further information call: 08433 621323 or email [email protected]
