Fathers4Justice Protesters Get 5 Year Ban From London
2 Fathers 4 Justice Protesters were today handed down draconian restrictions following their 17th June 2012 Heathrow runway protest.
Tony Ashby and Andy Mason, who had already been tagged and fined at an earlier hearing in June, appeared today at UXBRIDGE MAGISTRATES COURT to oppose further bail restrictions.
Tony Ashby was handed down a 5 year ban from entering Greater London, and both men were banned from airports, unless they were flying with a valid ticket.
The CPS, who sited blog posts and press releases from Fathers 4 Justice Campaign Director Nadine O’Connor, as “evidence” that the 2 men and Fathers 4 Justice were a threat, fell short of imposing the Olympic Restrictions that they tried to impose on F4J Founder Matt O’Connor earlier this year.
Nadine O’Connor said “These restrictions are unprecedented, we are clearly moving towards a Police State and where being a father is a criminal offence in itself. The Police cited the forthcoming Olympics and the F4J campaign as evidence to enforce these restrictions. We will appeal against them as we consider the 5 year bans a unlawful restriction of the men’s movements in the same way we oppose any restrictions on our right to protest in this country.”
