Fathers4Justice welcomes YouGov Poll showing 85% support for Equal Parenting Rights
F4J today welcomed a new poll by YouGov http://yougov.co.uk/news/2012/06/13/equal-rights-over-child-custody/ which found overwhelming support among the British public for both parents to have an equal share of child custody rights when getting divorced or separated, as well as shared responsibility for bringing up children.
The poll found that the majority of Brits deem fathers, and their role within the family unit, as important.
95% agree that both parents should share responsibility for bringing up children, 2% disagree
84% believe that both parents should have equal rights over the custody of their children
85% agree that fathers are instrumental in bringing up children, 9% disagree
F4J Campaign Director said “The YouGov poll vindicates the position taken by F4J and shows the latent support for our campaign objectives. The government would do well to consider the findings of this poll in the run up to Father’s Day this Sunday.”
