Fathers Founder Faces Work and Olympic Restrictions
The Founder of Fathers4Justice faces police restrictions preventing him from going to work next week and going within 100 yards of the Olympic Torch relay.
Matt O’Connor, 45 from Andover, Hampshire says he will breach bail restrictions imposed on him today at Charing Cross Police Station preventing him from entering the City of Westminster during the State Opening of Parliament next Wednesday 9th March. O’Connor says the restrictions prevent him from attending his place of work.
O’Connor, who attended Charing Cross Police Station to answer bail for a recent protest, said the Met are also applying for restrictions preventing him from going within 100 yards of the Olympic Torch relay when it begins on 19th May even though he lives beside the route.
He has also been indefinitely prevented from entering the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead. The Police say this covers Royal events and Henley Regatta and is not time specific.
O’Connor is on trial at Westminster Magistrates Court on May 18th for handcuffing himself to Buckingham Palace.
